Safe Harbor Ministries

Our Foundation

Est. 2010

Our church is built on a foundation of faith, prayer, and a desire to serve God and our community. What started as a small group of believers has grown into a church family that welcomes people from all walks of life throughout Queens, New York. We are a place where people can come together to worship, grow spiritually, and support one another through life's journey. Our goal is simple: to share the love of Christ, build lasting relationships, and create a church that feels like home.

Our Foundation of Faith

Safe Harbor Ministries is proudly affiliated with the Assemblies of God and guided by the 16 Fundamental Truths. These biblical values and doctrines form the bedrock of our church, shaping our mission, worship, and Spirit-led ministry as we strive to live out the truth of Scripture in everything we do.

Senior Pastor of Safe Harbor Ministries

Sursatie Jean Kissoon

Meet the Pastor

Guided by a vision of inclusivity and urban grace, our leadership team is here to support your spiritual journey.

Rev. Sursatie Jean Kissoon planted Safe Harbor Ministries in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York, in November 2010 with a vision to create a place where people can grow in their faith, experience genuine community, and discover the hope of Jesus Christ.

After giving her life to Christ at the age of 13, Rev. Kissoon dedicated herself to serving the Lord through a variety of ministry roles. Throughout the years, she has faithfully served as a Deaconess, Youth Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Quiz Coordinator, Fine Arts Coordinator, and Missions Coordinator, equipping believers, mentoring young people, and helping others grow in their relationship with God.

Her passion for missions has led her to serve in Nigeria, India, and Guyana, sharing the Gospel and supporting local communities. She also helped establish a ministry in Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana, reflecting her ongoing commitment to missions and church planting.

With a heart for serving others, Rev. Kissoon continues to lead with compassion, faith, and a desire to see lives transformed through the love of Jesus Christ.
